    Description

    Position Summary:

    Organizes, directs, and supervises the functions of clinical and/or procedural units within the Emergency Department. This includes policy and procedures are followed; safe staffing levels are maintained; supplies and equipment are at sufficient levels; and efficient patient throughput is managed. Develops, implements, and manages the department budget. Engages in ongoing quality and performance improvement, invests in lifelong learning for staff professional development and assures employees complete required annual competencies. Maintains own professional growth and development in nursing leadership and required licensure. Communicates important information to the CNO and other Administrative Team members as needed.

    As such, the responsibilities include but are not limited to the following activities: Staff development, evidence based clinical practice; personnel resource/productivity management; fiscal management; patient quality, safety and performance improvement; and regulatory compliance.

    Minimum Education

    Required Education:

    Bachelors degree (BSN) is required

    Master's degree (MSN, MHA, etc.) is preferred

    Required Licenses

    Registered Nurse in North Carolina or Compact state is required

    Required Certifications

    BLS is required within 30 days of hire

    ACLS is required within 90 days of hire

    PALS is required within 90 days of hire

    Required Citizenship / Work Permit / Visa Status
    Must be a U.S. Citizen, no visa sponsorship will be supported

    Must-Haves

    • Bachelors degree of Nursing (BSN) is required
    • Registered Nurse in North Carolina is required (or compact state)
    • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS is required
    • Minimum of three years supervisory experience (Manager role or above) in the Emergency Department, within the last five years required.

    Nice to Haves
    Master's degree (MSN, MHA, etc.) is preferred
    Experience working in a community hospital Emergency Department is preferred
