    Description

    A 370-bed regional medical center in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Director of Emergency Services. The facility operates a 29-bed emergency department — with expansion plans underway — that serves a volume of approximately 50,000 visits annually, and holds Chest Pain Center accreditation and Level 4 Trauma designation.

    The role. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Emergency Services leads a team of approximately 100 staff, including two managers, across a high-performing emergency department averaging 136 patient visits per day. The director drives clinical quality by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices that advance patient safety outcomes, managing clinical practice variation to improve efficiency, and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory standards. A significant focus of this role is optimizing patient throughput through volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and discharge planning, while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across departments. The director also owns full budget accountability for the unit — including labor management, staffing, supply and equipment utilization, and expense reduction — and partners with administrative and physician leadership to evaluate and develop new service offerings that support department growth.

    What we're looking for.

    • Bachelor's degree in nursing Required
    • Master's Degree Preferred
    • 1+ years applicable experience Required
    • 3+ years applicable experience Preferred

    Schedule. Full-time, days, no weekends.

    Compensation. $145,000 - $160,000 per year plus Sign-on bonus available
