    Location: Arizona

    Salary: Up to $150,000, negotiable, based on experience (DOE)

    A respected community hospital in Arizona is seeking an experienced nursing leader to serve as its Director of Emergency Services. This position provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for a busy Emergency Department that manages high-acuity cases, trauma, environmental emergencies, and seasonal fluctuations in patient volume.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the Emergency Department.
    • Maintain accountability for departmental quality, patient safety, staffing, productivity, and financial performance.
    • Lead employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, and staff-engagement initiatives.
    • Oversee scheduling, payroll, recruitment, retention, onboarding, staff development, and student clinical experiences.
    • Monitor departmental budgets and ensure the responsible use of labor, equipment, supplies, and other resources.
    • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and applicable laws.
    • Manage departmental contracts and vendor relationships.
    • Evaluate and justify requests for systems, equipment, and supplies.
    • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and necessary supplies remain available.
    • Integrate evidence-based practices into departmental operations and clinical protocols.
    • Foster professional development, accountability, teamwork, and career growth.
    • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing leadership, hospital executives, and other clinical departments.

    Required Qualifications

    • Current Arizona RN license or Compact RN license with eligibility to practice in Arizona.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
    • Emergency Department nursing experience.
    • Proven nursing leadership experience within an Emergency Department.
    • Current BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and Handle With Care certifications.
    • Strong critical-thinking, communication, team-building, and operational leadership skills.

    Preferred Qualification

    • Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business, or another relevant field.

    Compensation and Benefits

    The position offers a salary of up to $150,000, negotiable based on experience (DOE). A signing bonus is negotiable, and relocation assistance is available.
