    Position Summary

    We are seeking an experienced nurse executive to serve as the Director of Emergency Department . This position delivers strategic, clinical, and operational leadership over a high-volume, major trauma emergency service line. You will direct clinical throughput, staff development, financial health, and continuous quality initiatives within a collaborative hospital environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide executive oversight and daily operational direction for emergency services.
    • Drive patient safety, quality performance improvement, and evidence-based care standards.
    • Manage operational budgets, staffing productivity, supplies, and capital investments.
    • Enhance patient throughput, flow management, and patient satisfaction outcomes.
    • Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory and accreditation body standards.
    • Lead, mentor, and empower direct-report managers, nursing leaders, and clinical teams.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership and physician groups to align on strategic growth.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree preferred.
    • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (or compact equivalent).
    • Trauma Leadership: 3–5+ years of leadership experience (Director or equivalent) overseeing a large, high-volume Level I or Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department.
    • Clinical Background: Minimum 5 years of ER RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
    • Compliance & Track Record: Strong expertise in emergency service regulatory standards and a demonstrated track record of quantifiable results (KPIs, throughput, quality metrics).
    • Work History: Demonstrated history of job stability.
    • Labor Relations: Experience working in a unionized nursing environment preferred.
