Description

Power Cross Ministry | Statesville & Salisbury, NC

What if your next ministry role allowed you to invest your life in developing the next generation of Christian men?
Power Cross is looking for a Director of Discipleship who feels called to pour into young men, develop spiritual leaders, equip coaches, teach God’s Word, and help shape a culture where Jesus is at the center of everything we do.

This isn't simply a position overseeing Bible studies.

It's an opportunity to help raise up future husbands, fathers, leaders, and men of God.

Our mission is simple and ambitious:
Building up young men from generational poverty into spiritual leaders through Jesus with daily discipleship and athletics.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

At Power Cross, discipleship isn't a weekly program—it's who we are.
The Director of Discipleship will help lead the spiritual direction of our ministry and develop a discipleship strategy that reaches young men from elementary school through college, while also equipping our coaches and staff to become stronger disciple-makers.

We're looking for someone who loves Jesus, young people, God's Word, and developing leaders.

This role is ideal for a pastor, youth pastor, discipleship pastor, ministry leader, coach, FCA leader, Young Life leader, Christian educator, missionary, or other ministry professional who feels called to invest deeply in the next generation.

YOU MAY BE A GREAT FIT IF:

You:
  • Have a mature Christian faith and a genuine calling to discipleship ministry.
  • Love teaching Scripture and helping people understand how to live it.
  • Connect naturally with young men.
  • Believe athletics can be an incredible platform for ministry.
  • Enjoy developing leaders—not just leading programs yourself.
  • Can mentor and equip coaches to become disciple-makers.
  • Are relational, energetic, organized, and comfortable leading both small groups and large gatherings.
  • Want your work to have Kingdom impact that extends far beyond a job description.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:

You'll lead and strengthen the discipleship culture across Power Cross, including developing age-appropriate Bible studies and discipleship resources; teaching and leading Bible studies; mentoring young men and coaches; equipping coaches to disciple their teams; building relationships with families and local churches; supporting young men as they make decisions for Christ; helping lead baptisms, prayer gatherings, and special ministry events; and maintaining a meaningful presence in the everyday life of Power Cross.

Most importantly, you'll help ensure that Biblical teaching, mentorship, and spiritual formation remain woven into everything Power Cross does.

THIS IS MORE THAN A DESK JOB:

Power Cross ministry happens where our young men are.
That means you'll spend time in Bible studies, on athletic fields and sidelines, with coaches, in conversations with young men, at special events, and throughout our Statesville and Salisbury campuses.
If you're looking for a ministry where you can teach the Word and live it alongside the people you're discipling, this could be an incredible fit.

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE:

  • Starting salary: $60,000 annually.
    Cell phone provided.
    Computer provided.
  • Typical schedule:
    • Monday–Thursday | 11:00 AM–8:30 PM
    • Friday and Saturday responsibilities vary depending on games, events, and ministry needs.

THE PERSON WE'RE PRAYING FOR:

We're not simply looking for someone who can run a discipleship program.
We're praying for a spiritual leader and disciple-maker who wants to invest his gifts in young men and help build something that matters for eternity.

Someone who understands that sometimes discipleship happens during a Bible study—and sometimes it happens on a sideline, in a van, over a meal, after a difficult day, or during a conversation a young man may remember for the rest of his life.

If God has given you a heart for developing young men into strong, Christ-centered leaders, we'd love to talk with you.
