    Description

    Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.  

    We are in search of a Director of Day & Employment Services based out of Camp Hill, PA. The Director maintains a high-quality program to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You are responsible for supporting your team with day-to-day operations and challenges to achieve our programmatic goals, as well as developing employment opportunities geared towards all levels and needs for people with disabilities across Central, PA. 

    Responsibilities

    • Lead and train a team to support programmatic initiatives, goals, daily routines, and the unique needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
    • Manage and coordinate community-based vocational and employment programs
    • Supervise, evaluate, and provide direct support to Employment Specialists
    • Oversee the development of employment and volunteer opportunities for individuals with disabilities
    • Manage team performance through effective communication, training, performance management, staff meetings, and employee recognition
    • Assist with processing and approving all billing in a timely manner
    • Attend planning meetings for individuals and document follow up as needed
    • Oversee planning and facilitation of weekly day habilitation activities
    • Provide on-going supervision and support for community integration
    • Review all documentation of daily outings
    • Assist in building a support network between the individual, family members and the community
    • Employees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation
    • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Knowledge of day programs, supported employment, and community services for people with disabilities
    • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
    • Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
    • Team oriented with demonstrated leadership experience
    • Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities
    • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent time management skills

    Working Conditions

    • May be required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staff
    • Frequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion may be required
    • May be required to transport individuals utilizing your own vehicle or company provided vehicles
    • May be required to lift or move 25+ pounds
    • May assist with wheelchair transfer of non-ambulatory individuals
    • Work will take place in day program and community settings
    • May be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseases
