Director of Data Architecture

The role owns the end-to-end data architecture strategy, including data models, platforms, and governance, while partnering closely with business and technology teams to deliver scalable, cloud-based data solutions. Modern Data Stack & Cloud Platforms: Proven experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, and cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP), including lakehouse and medallion architectures.

Salary is 200k to 275k + bonus

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for building and scaling an enterprise data architecture function within a P&C insurance environment. The role owns the end-to-end data architecture strategy, including data models, platforms, and governance, while partnering closely with business and technology teams to deliver scalable, cloud-based data solutions. It also requires driving modernization of legacy systems, enabling analytics and regulatory reporting, and establishing standards and frameworks across global data domains such as policy, claims, and financials.

Key Requirements / Skills:

• P&C Insurance Domain (Must-Have): Deep understanding of insurance data across policy, claims, underwriting, and financial systems, including regulatory and reporting requirements.
• Hands-On Enterprise Data Architecture: Strong experience designing and implementing end-to-end data architectures, including data modeling, integration, and transformation across complex environments.
• Modern Data Stack & Cloud Platforms: Proven experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, and cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP), including lakehouse and medallion architectures.
• Data Governance & Frameworks: Expertise in establishing data standards, governance, metadata, lineage, and quality frameworks across enterprise data environments.
• Build & Lead Function: Track record of building and scaling data architecture teams, setting strategy, and driving adoption of best practices across global organizations.
