Description

Description

Ria opens ways for a better everyday life. With presence in over 190 countries and more than 500,000 locations worldwide, Ria is now the largest real-time cross-border money movement network in the world. We are dedicated to helping millions of people send money where it matters. Whether it's to loved ones at home or anywhere around the world, we know our customers deserve more than just a fair price—they deserve empathy, hope, and ultimately, respect.

We are Ria Money Transfer. A subsidiary of Euronet Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: EEFT), Ria is a leading expert in cross-border payments, delivering innovative financial services that are bridging the gap between digital and physical spaces. Ria’s omnichannel products and services provide unprecedented consumer choice, including real-time payments, mobile wallets, currency exchange, home delivery, and cardless ATM payouts. Ria’s global infrastructure, powered by the Dandelion real-time, cross-border payments network, facilitates financial access for customers, agents and partners alike by creating new market opportunities and promoting economic growth around the world.

The Role. Ria is expanding into stablecoin rails as part of its next-generation cross-border payment infrastructure, including on-ramp and off-ramp services within the network. As Director of Crypto Compliance, you will own this vertical end-to-end and be equally fluent in the crypto and traditional fiat financial worlds, moving fast, taking ownership, and building the compliance foundation as the business builds the product. This is a global role requiring strong knowledge of the US regulatory landscape alongside international frameworks. This is a hands-on, builder role, not a policy-writing desk job. You'll be the person the business turns to when it's evaluating a new stablecoin product, a new partner, or a new rail — and you'll be the one who decides what "doing it right" looks like, then makes it happen.

Your Mission
  • You will drive the strategy and roadmap for Ria's stablecoin vertical, including stablecoin settlement and on ramp/off-ramp services within the network.
  • Advise Product, Tech, and Business teams on new stablecoin products and features from concept through launch, translating regulation into practical, product-ready requirements.
  • Advise on broader crypto asset trading and tokenized assets as the business explores these areas, providing forward-looking regulatory and risk perspective ahead of any future launch.
  • Identify and assess the financial crime risks specific to crypto and stablecoins, including blockchain-based typologies, wallet risk, mixing/obfuscation, sanctioned addresses, and mule activity, and build the controls to manage them.
  • Lead the selection, implementation, and ongoing calibration of crypto compliance tooling in partnership with Tech and Product.
  • Design and maintain the crypto AML/CTF and sanctions framework, including risk assessments, policies, procedures, and controls, aligned to relevant US and global standards.
  • Oversee transaction monitoring, wallet screening, and sanctions screening specific to crypto and stablecoin flows, ensuring tools are properly tuned and effective.
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert on crypto financial crime, advising investigations, first-line teams, and senior management on emerging typologies and escalations.
  • Serve as the crypto compliance point of contact for US and international regulators, auditors, and senior management, and represent the vertical in examinations and licensing discussions
  • Partner with vendors and blockchain analytics providers to keep Ria ahead of emerging typologies and regulatory change.
  • Report on crypto compliance risk, KRIs, and program status to senior leadership.

What You'll Need

  • 7+ years in AML/CTF, financial crime, or regulatory compliance, with meaningful hands-on experience in crypto or digital assets.
  • Deep working knowledge of both crypto-native risk (blockchain forensics, wallet/address risk, stablecoins) and traditional fiat AML/CTF and payments compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of the US regulatory landscape for crypto and stablecoins, including FinCEN/BSA requirements, OFAC sanctions, state money transmitter licensing, and emerging federal stablecoin legislation.
  • Direct experience implementing or overseeing blockchain analytics tooling and crypto custody/settlement infrastructure.
  • Working understanding of the international crypto regulatory landscape (FATF, Travel Rule, MiCA, VARA, or equivalent regimes) and how it applies practically to product and operations.
  • High agency, urgency, and a bias toward action.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work directly with Product, Tech, Legal, and senior leadership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 Perks & Benefits

  • Inclusive, mission-driven workplace culture.
  • Competitive salary and incentive.
  • Paid vacation + personal days + sick time + holidays.
  • Health, dental, vision and life insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Global Language Program offering language learning opportunities.
  • Wellness initiatives supporting physical, mental, and financial well-being.
  • Learning, development, and tuition assistance programs.
