Location: Wayzata, MN

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Position Summary

The Director of Corporate Development is a senior growth leader responsible for originating, advancing, and closing strategic acquisition and investment opportunities for PACK Private Capital. This role is fundamentally relationship-driven and sales-oriented, requiring the ability to identify prospects, build trust with business owners and intermediaries, manage a robust opportunity pipeline, and convert conversations into completed transactions.

Success in this role will be measured by quality deal flow generated, relationships built, and transactions closed. The Director will act as the outward-facing ambassador of PACK’s investment philosophy to founders, operators, and advisors across the construction and related industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal Origination & Relationship Development
    • Proactively source acquisition, partnership, and investment opportunities through outbound outreach, networking, and relationship cultivation.
    • Build long-term, trust-based relationships with business owners, CEOs, and industry leaders.
    • Develop and maintain a referral network of bankers, brokers, accountants, and attorneys.
    • Clearly articulate PACK’s evergreen investment model and partnership value.
    • Maintain a disciplined deal pipeline from first contact through close.
  • Opportunity Qualification & Advancement
    • Lead initial qualification conversations to assess fit, motivation, and timing.
    • Guide prospects through the deal process, maintaining momentum and trust.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact through diligence and negotiation.
  • Financial Analysis & Deal Support
    • Partner with internal teams on financial modeling and valuation.
    • Coordinate due diligence and translate findings into deal terms.
    • Collaborate with legal and financial advisors on transaction structure.
  • Transaction Execution & Closing
    • Lead negotiations on key commercial terms.
    • Drive deals to closing by managing timelines and stakeholders.
    • Present recommendations to senior leadership and investment committees.
  • Post-Transaction Relationship Management
    • Support leadership transitions post-close.
    • Identify follow-on growth and add-on acquisition opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate development, private equity, investment banking, or complex B2B business development.
  • Proven ability to originate opportunities and close complex transactions.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship skills.
  • High-energy, self-starter mindset.

PACK Core Values

  • Unwavering Integrity – If you have integrity, that’s all that matters. And if you don’t have integrity, that’s all that matters.
  • Relentless Energy – Always outworked your competition. That sort of energy is contagious and compounding. Great PACKs are always on the hunt – and never full.
  • Unbridled Optimism – When you are constantly expecting good things to happen, you become a magnet for people and opportunities.
  • Continuous Improvement – You can be sure we’ll struggle and hit adversity. You can also be sure we will use every one of those moments to get better.
  • Growing Humility – It’s a natural tendency with more success to start believing you have all the answers. Rather than being know-it-alls, we want to be learn-it-all’s. Our goal is to grow into every new opportunity…not swell into them.

PACK Investment Thesis

In the words of Warren Buffett, "Our favorite holding period Is forever". PACK's Investment thesis is that of an evergreen model and our investment model is simple: attract elite talent -> deploy them in areas they win -> generate cash flows -> reinvest -> repeat.
