    Location: Atlanta, GA (Local Candidates Only)
    Pay Rate: Base Salary $175K-$180K + Annual Bonus

    Role Summary

    The Director of Corporate Accounting will serve as a key leader within the Controllership organization, overseeing complex accounting matters, accounting policy governance, financial reporting support, and critical corporate accounting functions. This highly visible position offers direct exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide accounting decisions.

    The role will lead technical accounting evaluations, support financial reporting and compliance activities, oversee headquarters close processes, and collaborate extensively with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, FP&A, and operational leaders. This individual will also manage a team of accounting professionals while driving process improvements and ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP, SEC requirements, and internal controls.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead technical accounting analysis and accounting conclusions for complex business transactions
    • Serve as the company subject matter expert for lease accounting under ASC 842
    • Interpret and implement accounting guidance from FASB, SEC, and other regulatory bodies
    • Oversee accounting for internal use software and cloud computing arrangements
    • Develop, maintain, and govern company accounting policies and procedures
    • Lead headquarters close activities and support corporate accounting operations
    • Manage consolidation activities including intercompany eliminations, ownership structures, and equity method accounting
    • Partner with SEC Reporting teams to review financial statement disclosures and footnotes
    • Ensure technical accounting conclusions align with SOX controls, compliance requirements, and audit standards
    • Serve as a key liaison for internal and external audit activities
    • Support quarterly and annual reporting processes
    • Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Legal, Shared Services, and business leaders on accounting matters
    • Lead special projects and enterprise-wide finance initiatives
    • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals

    Key Requirements

    • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience including public accounting and publicly traded company experience
    • Active CPA required
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
    • Deep expertise in lease accounting under ASC 842
    • Strong technical accounting knowledge and advanced understanding of U.S. GAAP
    • Experience analyzing and documenting complex accounting transactions
    • Experience with SOX controls, compliance frameworks, and audit support
    • Strong background in equity accounting and stock compensation
    • Experience with cash flow reporting and financial statement analysis
    • Experience presenting complex accounting matters to executive leadership and senior stakeholders
    • Prior experience supporting SEC reporting environments
    • Proven leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams

    Preferred Skills

    • Big 4 public accounting experience
    • Experience preparing technical accounting memorandums
    • Strong executive presence and ability to influence decision making
    • Experience partnering across multiple business functions and leadership teams
    • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
    • Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate accounting implications of business decisions
    • Experience with PeopleSoft, IBM Planning, CO-Star, or similar enterprise systems
