Title: Director of Contracts Location: Alexandria, VA US Citizenship Required: YesClearance: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph   The Director of Contracts provides executive-level leadership for the Contracts Department, guiding contract administration, subcontracts and procurement activities, developing organizational policies, and partnering with senior leadership to support business objectives. This hands-on leadership role oversees a team of contracts professionals while providing expertise on complex U.S. Government, defense, commercial, and agreements. Responsibilities:Lead and develop Contracts Department personnel, processes, policies, and objectivesProvide oversight to program staff on contract inception, implementation, and closeout activities, including preparation of contract briefing materials, required approvals, allowances, funding, procurement, property inventory, and audit file documentationOversee contract negotiations, preparation, modifications, extensions, and compliance activitiesProvide guidance on contractual rights, obligations, risks, and execution strategiesSupport proposals, pricing analysis, audits, certifications, and government contracting requirementsEnsure compliance with FAR/DFARS, DCMA, DCAA, data rights, and export control requirementsMaintain contract file integrity, reporting tools, and traceability for compliance reviewsHire, mentor, and evaluate contracts team members while managing departmental priorities Requirements: Bachelor's degree required, with at least 15 years' experience in a contracts role within the defense industry; a minimum of 5 years' experience must be in a senior contracts leadership or supervisory role Extensive progressive experience in project and contracts managementProposal cost and budget development requiredProficient knowledge of FAR/DFARSExperience with Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) auditsStrong organizational skills to ensure documentation is filed professionally and accurately for internal and external auditsComprehensive knowledge of US government service-type cost reimbursable, T&M, and fixed price Acquisition and Assistance managementDemonstrated ability to analyze complex contracts clausesThe ability to communicate effectively with personnel on all levels of the organizationExcellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate across technical disciplines and non-technical audience requiredUS citizenship required; TS//SCI w/CI Poly clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one Equal Opportunity Employer/Veteran/Disabled
