About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Landscape & Construction Operations to lead operations for two established landscaping companies in Southern Idaho with combined annual revenues of approximately $18 million.
This executive-level construction and landscape operations management position is ideal for an experienced leader with a background in construction management, commercial landscaping, field operations, landscape construction, field services, agriculture, or a related industry.
The Director will oversee operational performance across multiple locations, lead General Managers and field leadership teams, improve job costing, labor productivity, cost control, profitability, and operational efficiency, and implement scalable systems to support continued business growth.
This is not a maintenance-focused position. We are seeking a strategic and accountable operator who understands field operations, construction-related workflows, labor management, job costing, budgeting, P&L management, productivity, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Construction & Field Operations Management
- Lead and develop General Managers and operational leadership teams across two locations.
- Oversee commercial landscape and field operations, with a strong focus on productivity, execution, and operational efficiency.
- Improve field productivity, labor utilization, accountability, and operational performance.
- Standardize operating procedures, reporting systems, job costing, and field processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve project and operational profitability.
- Strengthen labor capacity, workforce readiness, and operational scalability.
- Support the development of a stronger sales and business development culture.
Financial & Business Operations
- Oversee P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, job costing, cost control, and financial performance.
- Analyze operational and job-costing data to identify opportunities for improved profitability.
- Establish consistent operating standards and performance expectations across multiple locations.
- Drive initiatives that improve profit margins, operational efficiency, scalability, and long-term growth.
- Support expansion into new markets and future business development initiatives.
Leadership & Workforce Management
- Lead, develop, and hold General Managers and leadership teams accountable for results.
- Strengthen leadership alignment, communication, and operational accountability.
- Support recruiting, employee retention, workforce development, and leadership development.
- Build structure and processes that improve team performance and operational consistency.
- Lead organizational change and address labor and operational challenges effectively.
- Make decisive, data-driven business and operational decisions.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 12–24 months, the successful Director will be expected to:
- Improve profitability across both operations.
- Increase field productivity and operational efficiency.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of leadership experience in construction, commercial landscaping, landscape operations, field services, agriculture, or a related industry.
- Strong experience managing field operations and operational teams.
- Demonstrated experience with P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, job costing, and cost control.
- Proven ability to improve operational efficiency, productivity, profitability, and team accountability.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage operational challenges, implement structure, and lead teams through change.
