Job Summary: 

 

The Director of Community Victim Services provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and program development for communitybased victim services, including satellite rape crisis centers, crisis response teams, and coordinated victim support initiatives. This role ensures highquality, traumainformed services for survivors of sexual assault and related crimes while strengthening collaboration across mental health, legal, medical, and community systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Program Leadership & Operations

 

1.       Satellite Center Oversight — Direct the daily operations, staffing, and service delivery of multiple satellite rape crisis centers to ensure consistent, survivorcentered care.

2.       Service Coordination — Develop and maintain integrated service pathways across crisis counseling, advocacy, case management, and community outreach.

3.       Policy Implementation — Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including VAWA, VOCA, and state victimassistance standards.

4.       Quality Assurance — Establish performance metrics, conduct program evaluations, and implement continuous improvement strategies.

 

Interagency & Systems Coordination

 

CrossSystem Collaboration Serve as the primary liaison to law enforcement, prosecutors, SANE programs, mental health providers, and social service agencies.

Systemic Problem Identification — Monitor and address systemic barriers affecting survivors’ access to justice, safety, and healing.

Community Partnerships — Build and sustain partnerships with community organizations, schools, hospitals, and advocacy groups.

 

Crisis Response & Survivor Support

TraumaInformed Practices Ensure all services reflect evidencebased, traumainformed approaches.

Crisis Intervention Oversight — Supervise 24/7 crisis response operations, including hotline, hospital accompaniment, and emergency advocacy.

 

Case Consultation — Provide expert guidance to staff on complex cases involving mental health crises, legal challenges, or multiagency involvement.

 

Staff Leadership & Development

 

Team Supervision — Recruit, train, and supervise advocates, counselors, and satellite center managers.

Professional Development — Develop training curricula on sexual assault response, trauma, cultural humility, and systems navigation.

Workforce Wellness — Implement strategies to reduce vicarious trauma and support staff resilience.

 

Community Education & Advocacy

 

Public Awareness — Oversee prevention programs, community education campaigns, and outreach initiatives.

Policy Advocacy — Advocate for improved victimrights legislation, funding, and system reforms.

DataDriven Reporting Prepare reports for funders, boards, and community stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

1.       Master’s degree in social work, public health, criminal justice, psychology, or related field.

2.       5–7+ years of experience in victim services, sexual assault response, or traumainformed program management.

3.       Demonstrated expertise in interagency coordination, systems advocacy, and crisis intervention.

4.       Strong understanding of mental health systems, legal processes, and communitybased service models.

5.       Proven leadership, supervision, and organizational management skills.
