We are currently looking for a full-time Director of Communications and Marketing who will be headquartered at 700 S. Clinton Street, Chicago, IL, 60607. Some travel and company events require attendance.

Starting at $85,000 - $95,000

Summary: This is a mid-level position that works in collaboration with executives and other internal and external decision-makers. The director oversees the development and delivery of communication strategies and tools to advance TASCs mission and strategic initiatives, and provides consultation and support to executive staff and other leaders in order to communicate the strongest elements of TASC to our most influential external audiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • With executives, prioritizes and sets direction for agency messages and communication activities based on TASCs strategic initiatives, external factors, and internal resources.
  • Provides counsel and works in collaboration with TASC executive and leadership staff on external communications and marketing strategies and deliverables with priority to overall agency positioning and alignment with TASCs policy agenda and program services.
  • Develops and implements action plans related to assigned priorities on TASCs strategic plan.
  • Works in close partnership with senior leadership over policy, consulting, and operations on collaborative strategies and initiatives to meet agency priorities.
  • Leads multifaceted communications strategy across multiple channels (print, online, social, etc.).
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to develop and execute strategies to market TASCs services to the criminal-legal system, child welfare, health, and other stakeholders.
  • Promotes consistency of TASC brand voice and visuals.
  • Guides the creation of digital, visual, and print materials.
  • Oversees tracking of engagement across various platforms.
  • Serves as a member of the Management Council.
  • Leads the standards of TASCs online visibility and interactivity, including oversight of website and social media content. In partnership with other leadership staff, utilize the TASC website, blog, and other social media and online tools as strategically appropriate to advance the agencys mission.
  • Provides overall guidance and assignments regarding content development for print, online, video, and other products.
  • Oversees media relations, including developing strategic messages and talking points; preparing leadership staff for media interviews; giving media interviews as appropriate; coordinating media outreach; and responding to media inquiries.
  • In alignment with the CEO and executives, handles crisis communications.
  • Ensures standards for the appearance of agency branding materials. Provides direction and oversight of production and dissemination of reports, position papers, public information materials, and related content representing the agency as a whole, its policy positions, and offerings.
  • Assures that agency contentwritten and visualadvances TASCs mission by promoting health and justice and uplifting TASCs mission, TASCs clients, and the agencys staff and leaders.
  • Monitors and responds to relevant advances in communications technology to ensure that TASCs communications tools represent TASC appropriately and professionally.
  • Develops press releases, slide decks, blog posts, talking points, fact sheets, brochures, award nominations, and other materials that promote TASCs expertise.
  • As needed, revises/rewrites/edits key materials produced by colleagues( e.g., policy briefs, reports).

Our Ideal candidate:

  • Masters degree or equivalent experience in communication or journalism from an accredited college/university or related field
  • At least three years of management experience
  • Knowledge of and interest in TASC-related issues (e.g., social justice, criminal justice, addiction recovery, etc.) as well as governmental affairs and social policy.
  • Ability to prepare written materials for various audiences, including reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, a diverse staff, colleagues, and partners
  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems and client populations related to TASC programs.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Ability to represent TASC in a positive and professional manner.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the Internet.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
