Our executive search firm is partnering with a leading healthcare organization to identify an accomplished Director of Clinical Operations to oversee and advance hospice care delivery across multiple regions.

The Opportunity

The Director of Clinical Operations provides leadership and oversight for clinical service delivery, ensuring quality outcomes, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and effective resource management. This leader will partner with clinical and operational teams to strengthen care models, improve workflows, and drive continuous improvement across hospice services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to clinical management teams responsible for hospice care delivery.
  • Oversee daily clinical operations, including admissions, discharges, care coordination, staffing, and service delivery.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care that meets clinical, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary leaders to implement strategies that improve patient outcomes and enhance operational performance.
  • Analyze and resolve complex clinical, operational, and financial challenges in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Support quality assurance, performance improvement, and compliance initiatives.
  • Develop and implement communication and workflow strategies that enhance efficiency and collaboration across teams.
  • Promote ongoing clinical education, professional development, and best practices among staff.
  • Support effective workforce planning and ensure appropriate staffing coverage for 24/7 hospice operations.
  • Lead talent management activities including hiring, coaching, performance evaluation, and leadership development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field preferred.
  • Active Registered Nurse license and current registration required.
  • Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) certification preferred/required.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive clinical management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of hospice care operations, regulatory requirements, reimbursement models, and quality standards.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, managing change, and improving clinical operations.
