The Director of Business Technology Solutions provides strategic leadership for aligning technology solutions, business processes, and data with Carroll University's institutional priorities. This role leads Business Analysis, Application Development, Project Delivery, Enterprise Applications, and Data & Analytics, partnering across the University to improve processes, deliver effective solutions, and advance strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership for Business Technology Solutions, ensuring technology initiatives, business processes, data, and solutions align with University priorities and goals.

• Lead and develop teams responsible for Business Analysis, Application Development, Project Delivery, Enterprise Applications, and Data & Analytics, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Partner with University leaders and campus stakeholders to understand business needs, identify opportunities, and translate strategic and operational priorities into effective technology solutions.

• Lead business process analysis and improvement efforts, evaluating people, process, data, and technology to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and the campus experience.

• Provide thought leadership on technology, AI, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions that support institutional transformation and strategic objectives.

• Oversee the evaluation, selection, implementation, integration, and optimization of enterprise applications and technology solutions.

• Establish and promote standards, governance, and best practices for solution delivery, application development, business analysis, data, and project execution.

• Oversee the effectiveness and continued evolution of enterprise applications, integrations, and technology solutions, identifying opportunities to improve, modernize, consolidate, or replace existing capabilities.

• Partner with technical and functional teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and sustainable solutions.

• Provide leadership for data and analytics capabilities that strengthen data accessibility, governance, reporting, and data-informed decision-making across the University.

• Oversee the prioritization and delivery of technology initiatives, balancing institutional priorities, business value, resource capacity, risk, and dependencies.

• Build strong relationships across the University and serve as a trusted technology partner and advisor to campus leadership and stakeholders.

• Collaborate with OIT Leadership team to review and maintain strategic roadmaps for business technology capabilities, enterprise systems, and data.

• Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered.
• Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, business technology, enterprise applications, solution delivery, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of leadership experience managing and developing technology professionals and/or multidisciplinary technology teams.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex technology initiatives and delivering enterprise solutions that support organizational strategy and business needs.
• Experience partnering with business and organizational leaders to evaluate processes, identify opportunities, define requirements, and translate business needs into effective technology solutions.
• Strong understanding of enterprise applications, application development and integration, data and analytics, project delivery methodologies, and modern technology architectures.
• Experience evaluating, selecting, implementing, integrating, and optimizing enterprise technology solutions and vendor-provided platforms.
• Experience developing strong partnerships with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and organizational leadership.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, automation, cloud technologies, and evolving approaches to enterprise technology and solution delivery.
• Higher education experience preferred but not required.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of enterprise technology ecosystems, including ERP and other enterprise applications, application development, systems integration, data and analytics, and cloud-based technologies.
• Conceptual knowledge of modern application and data architecture, including APIs and integrations, relational databases, data management, reporting and analytics technologies, data governance, and identity and access management.
• Knowledge in software development lifecycle (SDLC), application lifecycle management, and solution delivery methodologies. (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
• Understanding artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies, with the ability to evaluate their potential business value, risks, and appropriate application.
• Experience using project management software.

• Strong leadership experience in building, motivating, developing and managing employees.
• Ability to develop, nurture and encourage staff to embrace change and move the institution forward.
