Salary Range: $140,000–$175,000 plus exceptional benefits 

Job Summary:

Our client, a leading construction organization to supports projects for clients in the commercial and industrial markets, is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive strategic growth through client acquisition, relationship development, and market expansion. The Director of Business Development will identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities while building long-term relationships with clients, industry influencers, and key stakeholders. This leadership role partners closely with internal teams to develop winning pursuit strategies, deliver client-focused solutions, and support successful project execution.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives.
  • Identify and qualify new opportunities through market research, networking, and client engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, owners, developers, architects, engineers, and industry influencers.
  • Lead pursuit planning, proposal development, presentations, and pre-contract activities.
  • Collaborate with preconstruction, project management, and operations teams to ensure seamless project transitions.
  • Maintain CRM data, customer action plans, market intelligence, and opportunity tracking.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade associations, and community organizations.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, coaching, and performance management for business development team members.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Real Estate, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in business development and
  • 3+ years in construction project management.
  • Solid knowledge of design-build delivery methods and construction project lifecycles.
  • Proven success developing client relationships, securing new business, and leading pursuit strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Strategic, self-motivated professional with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive results.
