    Position Overview

    We are seeking a Business Developer to drive growth within an assigned vertical market. This role is responsible for developing a territory strategy, generating new business, and closing deals while partnering internally to ensure successful client implementation and long-term satisfaction.

    This is a base salary plus commission role designed for someone who is competitive, self-directed, and motivated by results. Listed compensation is the base salary range.

    What You’ll Do

    Sales Strategy and Execution

    • Develop and execute a territory sales plan within a defined vertical market
    • Identify, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities
    • Build and maintain a strong pipeline through cold outreach, networking, and referrals
    • Conduct needs assessments and present tailored service solutions

    Client Acquisition and Closing

    • Lead the full sales cycle from initial outreach through contract execution
    • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals
    • Negotiate pricing and terms while maintaining company margin expectations
    • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets

    Client Experience and Implementation

    • Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service launch
    • Maintain strong client relationships post-sale to support retention and growth
    • Conduct periodic service check-ins and quality assurance reviews

    Operational Discipline

    • Track all activity in CRM and maintain accurate pipeline reporting
    • Provide regular sales forecasts and performance updates
    • Respond promptly to inbound inquiries and client needs

    Market Awareness

    • Monitor competitors, industry trends, and market conditions
    • Identify new vertical opportunities and contribute to growth strategy
    • Represent the company at networking events and industry functions

    What We’re Looking For

    Experience

    • 3+ years of business development or sales experience
    • Proven success in closing deals and hitting revenue targets
    • Experience in residential and/or commercial sales required
    • Background in service-based or B2B sales environments preferred

    Skills

    • Strong closing ability with confidence in negotiation
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to build and execute a plan
    • Highly organized with strong pipeline management habits
    • Comfortable with CRM systems and digital sales tools

    Location

    • Must be in the District of Columbia/Maryland/Virginia state area and able to travel to Columbia, MD regularly.
