Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a VP / Director of Business Development & Consignment Strategy on behalf of a highly established organization within the collectibles and auction industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished sales and business development leader to guide a team of client-facing professionals, strengthen pipeline execution, and help drive significant high-value opportunities from initial relationship through successful close.

Working closely with executive leadership, this individual will provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and accountability across a team of Consignment Directors supporting entertainment, pop culture, historical, and other collectible categories. The ideal candidate is a proactive, commercially minded leader who knows how to develop sales professionals, identify opportunities that require attention, improve follow-through, and create greater visibility across a complex pipeline.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship, and performance management to a team of sales and client-development professionals.
• Conduct regular pipeline and opportunity reviews, identifying stalled opportunities, communication gaps, risks, and appropriate next steps.
• Coach team members on business development, client management, negotiation, deal strategy, and effective follow-through.
• Maintain visibility into significant opportunities from initial prospecting and relationship development through successful completion.
• Partner with executive leadership on significant deals, negotiations, and strategic business decisions.
• Evaluate deal structures, contractual commitments, financial considerations, and potential business risks.
• Participate in important client meetings, presentations, negotiations, and complex relationship-management situations.
• Improve communication and coordination across sales, operations, and other internal teams.
• Develop processes and reporting practices that improve pipeline visibility, accountability, decision-making, and execution.
• Help create a more proactive sales culture focused on identifying opportunities early and ensuring important business does not fall through the cracks.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Significant experience in sales leadership, business development, client development, strategic partnerships, consignment strategy, auction management, or another relationship-driven business.
• Demonstrated success leading and developing sales, business development, or client-facing professionals.
• Strong commercial judgment with experience evaluating complex opportunities, negotiations, deal structures, contracts, and business risk.
• Proven ability to manage and provide visibility across complex sales or business-development pipelines.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to confidently partner with highly engaged executive leadership while independently driving day-to-day team performance.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Experience within luxury goods, collectibles, entertainment, authentication services, fine art, auctions, or another high-value relationship-driven industry is highly desirable.
• Direct auction-house experience is not required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary of up to $250,000, depending on experience, along with a structured performance-based bonus tied to individual and company performance. The organization prefers candidates who can work onsite in Beverly Hills, with some flexibility available.
