    Overview

    Fynde has partnered with a leading global packaging business that is redefining how retailers adopt circular and sustainable packaging solutions. The organisation plays a pivotal role in enabling major retail partners to reduce waste through closed-loop systems and the reuse of packaging assets across apparel, general merchandise, and consumer goods.

    This is a senior leadership role, responsible for shaping and executing the commercial growth strategy in North America. The successful candidate will own high-level retail partnerships, spearhead market development, and align revenue performance with environmental and social governance (ESG) objectives. A key focus will be driving large-scale adoption of returnable and reusable packaging models across the retail supply chain, using a solution-selling approach to tailor programmes that deliver both commercial and ESG value to retail partners.

    Key Responsibilities

    Commercial Growth & Market Strategy

    • Lead the North American business development strategy, setting and delivering ambitious revenue and margin growth targets.
    • Drive expansion of strategic partnerships with leading retailers, with a strong emphasis on transitioning to returnable and reusable packaging models.
    • Identify, structure, and convert complex, multi-stakeholder commercial opportunities, including tenders and executive-level negotiations.
    • Apply a solution-selling methodology to uncover client pain points and design bespoke circular packaging solutions that align with business and sustainability goals.
    • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities that aligns client needs with the company’s long-term growth objectives.

    Client & Executive Relationship Leadership

    • Serve as the senior commercial lead for key retail accounts, building board-level and C-suite relationships.
    • Act as a trusted advisor on circular packaging, reuse systems, and sustainable logistics within the retail supply chain.
    • Guide clients through the transition to returnable and reusable packaging solutions, positioning offerings as end-to-end solutions that integrate seamlessly into their operations.
    • Ensure delivery of contractual obligations including KPIs, ESG reporting, and service level agreements.
    • Proactively address challenges and ensure long-term client satisfaction and value creation.

    Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner closely with internal leadership across operations, sustainability, finance, and global sourcing teams.
    • Influence product and service innovation to deliver client-centric solutions, particularly for returnable and reusable packaging.
    • Collaborate with marketing and customer service teams to position the company as the leading provider of reuse packaging solutions.
    • Provide clear, structured reporting to executive leadership on account performance, pipeline, and growth forecasts.

    Profile & Experience

    • 10+ years’ experience in senior-level business development, key account management, or commercial leadership roles.
    • Demonstrated success in solution selling and consultative approaches, ideally within packaging, supply chain, or consumer goods sectors.
    • Proven track record in building and scaling large retail partnerships, with experience in driving adoption of returnable/reusable packaging or other circular economy models.
    • Deep knowledge of North American retail dynamics and operational complexities.
    • Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills with proven board-level engagement.
    • Experience leading contract negotiations, strategic proposals, and complex bids.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP system experience (e.g., SAP) preferred.
    • Degree in business, sales, sustainability, or logistics is advantageous.
