    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Director of Bilingual & ESL Programs provides strategic leadership, oversight, and support for all bilingual and ESL programs across the district. This position ensures compliance with state and federal requirements while promoting academic achievement, language development, and equitable educational opportunities for emergent bilingual students.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Master's degree in education, Bilingual Education, ESL, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
    • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with Bilingual and/or ESL certification required.
    • Minimum of five years of experience in bilingual and ESL education, including leadership experience.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Develop and oversee district-wide bilingual and ESL programs.
    • Lead curriculum development and instructional support initiatives.
    • Recruit, train, coach, and support bilingual and ESL educators.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local program requirements.
    • Monitor student achievement and language proficiency data.
    • Support LPAC implementation and required documentation.
    • Build partnerships with families and community stakeholders.
    • Manage program budgets and resources effectively.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress, analyze data, and manage multiple priorities.
    • Physical Demands: Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and computer use; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Environmental Factors: Office and school environments with occasional travel between campuses.
