St Charles Community College participates in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XVI athletics. The Director of Athletics is responsible for providing leadership, supervision and mentoring of the Athletic Department staff, administers the college''s intercollegiate athletic program and reaches fund raising goals for the athletic department on an annual basis. The Director of Athletics will support academic success of student-athletes and development of the whole person for the student-athletes.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Athletic Director provides consistent leadership for the department, including management of budgets and staff. Performs normal supervisory functions: trains; instructs; assigns work to departmental personnel; recommends transfers, promotions, wage increases, terminations; arranges for additional help or need for overtime; explains and enforces college policies, safety rules, and regulations; evaluates performance. In addition, the Athletic Director works in cooperation with the other Directors to supervise shared positions

EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE
Minimal Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree and a minimum of two years of experience in athletic department administration at the director/operations supervisor or assistant director level or five (5) years of experience at the full-time head coach level in a community college/junior college setting. Demonstrated knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Over two years of experience in athletic department administration at the director/operations supervisor/assistant director level or over five (5) years of experience at the full-time head coach level in a community college/junior college setting. Demonstrated success in achieving annual fundraising goals.
