Job TitleLead Accounts Payable and Accounts ReceivableJob DescriptionLead the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions. Oversee vendor payments, invoice processing, and respond professionally to payment inquiries. Manage customer account reconciliations, collections, dispute resolution, and distributor payment activities. Monitor cash flow trends and identify opportunities to improve working capital, payment strategies, and financial efficiency. Develop and implement process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness, accuracy, and internal controls. Establish department goals, performance metrics, and payment parameters to improve efficiency and service levels. Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop AP/AR team members, including hiring, performance management, and professional development. Review and audit team work to ensure compliance with accounting policies and accuracy of financial records. Communicate key financial risks, cash flow concerns, and aging trends to senior leadership. Support treasury activities, including cash forecasting and identifying financing requirements when necessary. Maintain vendor and customer master data, oversee customer credit reviews, and manage credit applications. Administer internal loan and interest tracking as required. Prepare, analyze, and present departmental KPIs and financial reports to leadership. Ensure invoices are coded correctly and accounting practices comply with U.S. GAAP. Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and audit requirements. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training documentation for AP and AR processes. Manage annual 1099 preparation and filing. Lead AP and AR activities during the month-end close process. Support internal and external audit requests. Experience working within consumer packaged goods, beverage, food & beverage, or other distribution-based industries is preferred. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices. Experience with SAP is preferred. Experience with Concur Invoice or similar AP automation platforms is a plus. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
