Director of Affordable Housing

Our client, an established general contractor, is looking for a Director of Affordable Housing to drive business development and expand its project pipeline. This position will focus on building strategic relationships, identifying new opportunities, and leading pursuits from initial development through contract award.
The ideal candidate will have strong affordable housing industry knowledge, an established network, and a proven track record of securing new work.
Director of Affordable Housing Responsibilities:
- Lead business development efforts and identify new affordable housing opportunities throughout the region.
- Develop and maintain relationships with developers, housing authorities, public agencies, designers, consultants, and community partners.
- Build and manage a pipeline of prospective projects and track key pursuit activity.
- Monitor market trends, funding opportunities, procurement requirements, and upcoming developments.
- Lead RFQ/RFP responses and coordinate with estimating, preconstruction, operations, and marketing teams.
- Develop pursuit strategies, proposals, and client presentations tailored to project and client needs.
- Provide leadership with updates on business development activities, market opportunities, and upcoming pursuits.
Director of Affordable Housing Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in affordable housing, construction, development, architecture, consulting, public finance, or related field.
- Established relationships within the affordable housing and development community.
- Experience leading proposals, RFQs/RFPs, and client interviews.
- Strong understanding of affordable housing development, funding, procurement, and compliance.
- Knowledge of LIHTC, prevailing wage, WMBE, Section 3, and public procurement preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Compensation: $150K - $200K (DOE), plus bonus opportunities
