Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and commercialization of advanced manufacturing processes from laboratory research through full-scale production
  • Direct process scale-up activities involving chemical processing, advanced materials, and gas-based manufacturing technologies
  • Develop manufacturing strategies that improve quality, yield, safety, scalability, and cost efficiency
  • Establish process control strategies, critical process parameters (CPPs), and critical quality attributes (CQAs)
  • Oversee technology transfer from R&D into commercial manufacturing operations
  • Lead cross-functional teams through stage-gate product development and commercialization programs
  • Develop project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
  • Lead process validation, qualification activities, and manufacturing readiness programs
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, EPA, OSHA, DOT, and applicable regulatory standards
  • Direct risk assessments, FMEA, HAZOP, and process safety management activities
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and R&D to successfully launch new products
  • Lead capital equipment planning, facility expansions, pilot plant development, and manufacturing infrastructure projects
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline
  • Must have 10+ years of progressive experience in advanced manufacturing, process development, chemical processing, or materials manufacturing
  • Must have 5+ years of engineering or manufacturing leadership experience
  • Proven success scaling new products from laboratory development through commercial manufacturing
  • Strong background in chemical processes, advanced materials, gas handling systems, and manufacturing operations
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering and commercialization teams
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, process validation, quality systems, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with stage-gate product development and technology transfer methodologies
