Description

Director of Admissions

Salary: $50,149–$61,526 per year

Are you a people-focused professional who enjoys building relationships, connecting people with the right resources, and making a difference for residents and their families?

We’re looking for a Director of Admissions to join our team and be an important part of helping individuals and families navigate the transition into long-term care. In this role, you’ll serve as a welcoming and knowledgeable resource for prospective residents, families, referral partners, and the community.

What You’ll Do

As our Director of Admissions, you’ll help guide the admissions process from the initial inquiry through move-in while building strong relationships throughout the community.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to inquiries from prospective residents and families and providing helpful information about our services, admissions process, Medicare/Medicaid, billing, and more
  • Following up with prospective residents and families throughout their decision-making process
  • Giving tours of the facility and creating a welcoming experience for residents and their families
  • Building and maintaining relationships with hospitals, discharge planners, social workers, physicians, and other referral sources
  • Promoting our services and programs within the community
  • Helping coordinate community events, open houses, and other outreach opportunities
  • Coordinating the admissions process with our clinical team and facility leadership
  • Scheduling and participating in pre-admission visits when appropriate
  • Helping families and residents complete necessary admission paperwork and understand what to expect
  • Coordinating pre-admission and move-in activities to help make the transition as smooth as possible
  • Maintaining accurate inquiry, admission, discharge, and bed-availability records
  • Working closely with our team to ensure residents and families receive accurate information and a positive experience
  • Supporting employee engagement and facility events that help create a welcoming, connected workplace
  • Protecting resident privacy and maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Following all safety, infection control, compliance, and resident-rights policies

What We’re Looking For

You don’t have to have a specific degree to be successful in this role. We’re looking for someone who is friendly, organized, dependable, and comfortable building relationships with people from all backgrounds.

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enjoy meeting new people and building professional relationships
  • Can work independently while also collaborating with a team
  • Are organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and follow up consistently
  • Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Have good judgment and the ability to make decisions when needed
  • Are comfortable communicating with residents, families, healthcare professionals, referral sources, and community partners
  • Have basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Are compassionate, patient, positive, and professional
  • Understand the importance of treating residents and families with dignity and respect

Previous admissions, healthcare, long-term care, sales, marketing, social services, or related experience is a plus. A college degree in a related field is also preferred but not required.

What to Expect

This is primarily a Monday–Friday, normal business-hours position, with some flexibility needed to support admissions and facility needs outside of regular hours. This may include occasional weekends, evenings, midnights, or holidays as needed.

The position may also require occasional travel throughout the state.

Why This Role Matters

Choosing long-term care is a major decision for residents and their families. As Director of Admissions, you’ll be one of the first people they turn to for guidance, information, and reassurance.

Your ability to listen, answer questions, build trust, and help families navigate the admissions process can make a meaningful difference in their experience.

If you’re someone who enjoys connecting with people, building relationships, and helping families during an important transition, we’d love to hear from you!
