The Director of Clinical Services s is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of the hospital. Included in these responsibilities are the development and implementation of a high quality treatment program and the development and maintenance of well-trained clinical staff. Organizational, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills are required in the performance of these responsibilities. The Director will be directly responsible for departmental operations which includes personnel, equipment and supplies, and planning, implementing, directing, and supervising the technical activities of the department. 

• Oversee day to day operation and administration of the Social Services Programs including development and management of budgeting and financial resources as well as staffing needs and patterns to include adjusting work schedules or project priorities to meet emergencies or changing conditions. 

• Define the qualifications and performance expectations for all staff positions through the Performance Development system, including department specific job descriptions, and measurable performance standards. Ensure that staff qualifications are consistent with job responsibilities. Verify for each employee or contracted personnel that, where relevant, education and training are consistent with applicable legal and regulatory requirements and hospital policy, that the individual is licensed, certified or registered, and that the individuals knowledge and experience are appropriate for the job assignment. 

• Participates in strategic planning and public policy development for Social Work related programs. Maintains compliance with federal, state, Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory standards and practices to include leading efforts to ensure regular QA compliance monitoring while educating colleagues and development of performance improvement goals. Ensures compliances with current laws, regulations and standards, addressing issues prior to due dates or within short time frames if unexpected changes are posted by outside agencies. 

• Analyze long-range impact of decisions and plans. Ensure service standards meet or exceed competency standards. 

• Ensure the most effective use of Social Work interventions through program development, process improvement and coordination of processes across functions. Standardize services, processes, resources, and practice to improve efficiency. Analyze and evaluate ongoing department programs to identify areas where adjustment/improvements are needed. 

• Participate in periodic management meetings to keep leadership informed of issues and concerns. .

• Collaborate with a multitude of departments on a variety of new programs to ensure consistency of practice. 

• Exercise judgment and prepare supporting or correcting documentation as deemed appropriate. 

• Ensure a safe, satisfying and enriching environment for colleagues while developing and ensuring retention goals are being met and encourage growth. 

• Lead, develop, and direct a comprehensive social work program designed to assess and treat the psychosocial needs of patients and their families. 

• Plan scope and emphasis of social services program for inpatient and outpatient services. Ensure smooth coordination of care by providing cross covering services for enhanced customer service. 

• Provides oversight for practice and functions of Social Work Education & Experience: 

• Develop work goals for the Social Services staff consistent with institutional and departmental goals and policy 

What qualifications you will need:

• Masters Degree in Social Work, required 

• Inpatient experience working with all patient populations preferred

• Supervisory experience preferred 

• (LCSW) Clinical Social Worker, required 

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Other-Fingerprint Required
