Director of Accounting

Venteon Finance is currently seeking a DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING for a stable mid-sized company in the Novi, MI area.

REQUIREMENTS for the Director of Accounting role 

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting 

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience

• Experience supervising a full-cycle Accounting team

• Strong understanding of GAAP

• Small-Midsized company experience

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Director of Accounting role 

• Direct, and review the work performed within accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other Accounting staff areas

• Step into transaction processing, reconciliations, collections, vendor issue resolution or administrative accounting work when workload or coverage requires

• Own daily, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and supporting schedules

• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports, including profit and variance analysis, for ownership and leadership

• Assist with budgets, forecasts and projection analysis for accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash and operating performance

• Coordinate year-end information and requested schedules with the external accounting firm

• Manage daily cash reporting and maintain visibility into available cash, expected receipts, vendor obligations and other cash requirements

• Prepare or coordinate monthly and annual tax filings with the external accounting firm and track required due dates and completion

• Ensure accounting activities follow relevant accounting principles, internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements 

• Other Duties as assigned
