Position Overview

A growing financial services and business advisory firm is seeking a hands-on leader to scale its outsourced accounting and financial advisory practice. This individual will oversee client delivery, develop and manage a team of accounting professionals, establish standardized processes, and help expand the firm's advisory capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead an advisory team, including recruiting, training, and managing accounting and controller-level professionals.

• Develop standardized procedures, quality controls, reporting practices, and performance metrics to support consistent service delivery.

• Manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, accounting judgments, and financial statement accuracy.

• Provide financial planning and analysis support, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, KPI reporting, and financial presentations.

• Serve as a technical resource for complex accounting matters and provide strategic guidance to business owners.

• Evaluate accounting technology, system integrations, automation, and AI solutions to improve workflows and financial reporting.

• Partner with business development and client service teams to define service offerings, support client onboarding, and identify growth opportunities.

• Monitor team capacity, service quality, client retention, and profitability to support the continued expansion of the practice.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an outsourced accounting, client advisory, or fractional controller function.

• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including financial reporting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and management reporting.

• Proven ability to recruit, develop, and lead accounting professionals.

• Strong client relationship, communication, and presentation skills.

• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms, financial systems integrations, automation, and emerging AI tools.
