    Summary:

    The HCS Director Nursing Operations ensures the effective coordination of centralized nursing operations to optimize patient care, staffing efficiency, and operational performance across the health system, along with growth and expansion of centralized monitoring. This position will report to the HCS VP Nursing Operations, and will be responsible for driving the executive's strategic nursing initiatives forward, including communicating and managing deliverables across the business.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Centralized Nursing Operations Excellence - Oversees central staffing operations to include management of contingent workforce initiatives to ensure adequate staffing levels and quality care delivery.
    • -Manages virtual monitoring systems and departments to improve patient safety and streamline healthcare processes.
    • -Engages hospital leadership in transitioning to centrally supported nursing services and serves as primary liaison between hospital leaders and centralized nursing teams to ensure smooth integration and alignment.
    • -Develops predictive staffing models utilizing analytics and workforce management technology.
    • -Oversees deployment and optimization of capacity management platforms, real-time dashboards, and other key metrics.
    1. Leading People - Leads people toward meeting the organizations vision, mission, and goals.
    • -Provides an inclusive workplace that fosters the development of others, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts.
    • -Provides oversight of the onboarding, education and annual skills/competency process for all centralizing nursing teammates.
    • -Oversees contracts and vendor relationships related to centralized patient care services. Participates in and supports nursing shared governance activities.
    • -Recognizes, supports, and utilizes evidence-based nursing practices and evidenced-based management practices.

    • -Ensures optimal staffing using productivity targets and predictive analytics. --Collaborates with hospital nursing leaders to develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPI) related to labor utilization system-wide.
    • -Develops standardized process for centralized surge response and lead staffing command center during emergency management situations.
    • -Develops and manages operating budget to ensure strong financial performance.
    • -Analyzes metrics to quantify and assess recruiting needs, forecast turnover, and identify critical staffing needs for planned growth or expansion.
    • -Collects, analyzes, and distributes data related to central nursing operations. Ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
    • -Adheres to the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.

    Other Information:

    Education Requirements:

    Masters degree in nursing or equivalent required

    Licensure/Certification Requirements:

    Must have NC RN licensure. Nursing specialty certification by exam or portfolio.

    Professional Experience Requirements:

    Seven (7) years of progress hospital leadership experience.

    Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

    Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

    Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
