Director- Northern Ohio Trauma System

In partnership with the NOTS Advisory Board Chair, Medical Director, participating hospital and EMS leaders, and other regional stakeholders, directs the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the regional trauma system plan, governance structure, clinical protocols, and performance improvement activities. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, EMS, or a related healthcare field, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8:00am -4:30pm

Summary:

Leads the strategic, operational, and administrative functions of the Northern Ohio Trauma System (NOTS), serving as the principal coordinator for a multi-hospital regional trauma network. In partnership with the NOTS Advisory Board Chair, Medical Director, participating hospital and EMS leaders, and other regional stakeholders, directs the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the regional trauma system plan, governance structure, clinical protocols, and performance improvement activities. Oversees integration of shared data, quality benchmarks, education, outreach, and financial resources to advance consistent, high-quality, and cost-effective trauma care across the region. Serves as the primary liaison among participating organizations and ensures network operations are aligned with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. Represents NOTS at the state and local legislature, working with its participating health system government relations teams in advocating for improved trauma care. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer services standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, EMS, or a related healthcare field, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
• Five years of related experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Experience with systems related to the care of trauma patients, trauma services, emergency services, or regional clinical programs.
• Knowledge of financial analysis, budget management, business planning, and operational resource management.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, financial management, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong presentation, communication, training, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with physicians, administrators, EMS partners, community stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of performance improvement, data review, benchmarking, and report preparation in a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with trauma verification/designation standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation expectations.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:

• Master's Degree or other advanced degree.
• Experience in trauma program administration, trauma systems coordination, emergency services leadership, or regional healthcare network operations.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary committees, advisory groups, or cross-organizational teams.
• Experience with quality improvement, outcomes reporting, or trauma-related data systems.

Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents.
