Position Overview:
The Director of Mortgage Product Strategy is a senior mortgage-finance leader responsible for setting strategy and driving business performance for a portfolio of Freddie Mac Single-Family mortgage products. The portfolio may include conventional purchase and refinance mortgages, affordable lending solutions, first-time homebuyer offerings, home equity/second liens, construction-to-permanent and renovation lending, manufactured housing and emerging mortgage products.
The successful candidate will bring deep residential mortgage expertise and experience developing, managing, underwriting, evaluating pricing, assessing or executing mortgage loan products. The Director will identify unmet borrower and lender needs, assess market opportunities, develop new offerings, optimize existing products, build investment cases, and lead complex initiatives from strategy through market launch. The role requires evaluating opportunities across credit, underwriting, pricing and economics, secondary-market and capital-markets execution, Seller operations, competitive dynamics, and housing finance policy-and translating those insights into mortgage product strategies and recommendations for Freddie Mac senior leadership.
Our Impact:
The Single-Family Product Strategy team optimizes Freddie Mac's mortgage loan products and develops new offerings that create enterprise value, improve borrower experiences and outcomes, and expand affordable, accessible homeownership solutions through responsible product design.
Your Impact:
As a mortgage product strategy director, you will identify market opportunities, shape and execute mortgage loan product strategies, and ensure Freddie Mac's loan product offerings remain competitive, mission-focused, and aligned with business objectives. You will partner across the enterprise to convert market opportunities into mortgage offering enhancements or new offerings that benefit borrowers and create value for lenders, investors, and Freddie Mac. Through thoughtful strategy and execution, you will advance Freddie Mac's mission by improving housing market accessibility and sustainability, enhancing borrower experiences, supporting homeownership lending solutions, reducing friction, streamlining operations, and strengthening enterprise profitability.
