Position Summary:

The Director of Patient Accounts is responsible for directing all functions of the Hospital's Patient Accounts department including billing, collections, customer service, cash posting, denial management, and budget preparation. This proven revenue cycle leader will manage the accounts receivable through data analytics to coordinate daily activities and drive future workflow enhancements to meet industry standard targets around cash, A/R days, cash to net, and cost to collect. The Director is responsible for continued strategic improvements in the department and aligns leader and team member goals and objectives. The Director will communicate relevant trends, KPIs, and overall performance with their team and Vice President of Revenue Cycle. The Director works closely with leaders and teams across the continuum to streamline processes and coordinate remediation. The Director will promote a working environment that reflects the values and vision of University Health Systems.

Position Qualification:

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four year college or university and five to ten years leading a hospital patient accounts department.

Previous accounts receivable management at an academic level I trauma center.

Oracle Soarian/RevElate patient accounting system experience.

Demonstrates administrative and technical aptitude on insurance and billing rules and requirements at a level of expertise.

Successfully lead multi-disciplinary changes in the revenue cycle that improved performance.

Demonstrates strong communication and organization skills.

Demonstrates initiative and strong drive to achieve results that will support the vision, mission and values of UHS and their department.
