    Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Director of I.S. Applications to lead the development and support of core business systems, with a strong emphasis on IBMi (AS400) and Microsoft technologies.

This role combines technical leadership and active delivery, ensuring stability of critical systems while driving practical modernization and integration across the enterprise.

    This is a hands-on leadership role—not an architect-only or strategy-only position.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead a team supporting and enhancing core enterprise applications across IBMi and Microsoft platforms
    • Oversee development, support, and delivery of solutions supporting plant and corporate operations
    • Drive improvements in system performance, reliability, and business processes
    • Lead integration across IBMi, Microsoft solutions, ERP (SAP), and EDI environments
    • Stay actively involved in solution design, troubleshooting, and delivery execution
    • Ensure all application development and changes meet SOX compliance requirements, including proper controls, documentation, and audit readiness

    Technology Focus

    • IBMi / AS400 (RPGLE, RPG-Free, CL, DB2)
      • Custom written Manufacturing, accounting and Customer Order Management systems
      • Infinium Financial Software
      • Business-to-Business via Trusted Link / IBM Sterling
    • Microsoft Platform:
      • Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
      • .NET / C#
      • Azure (APIs, integrations)
      • SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS (data platform & analytics)
      • Power BI
      • SharePoint

    Qualifications

    • 7–10+ years of application development experience
    • 3–5+ years of leadership experience
    • Hands-on experience with IBMi and Microsoft technologies
    • Experience supporting and enhancing core business systems in an enterprise environment
    • Accountable for ensuring SOX-compliant development, change management, and system controls; must have hands-on experience operating in a SOX-controlled environment
    • Working knowledge of responsible AI and ability to apply AI tools (e.g., Copilot, automation, analytics) to improve processes while maintaining security and governance.
    • Must be a hands-on leader actively engaged in development and solutioning—not a purely oversight role

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
    • Equivalent hands-on experience in IBMi and Microsoft application development will be considered

    Why This Role

    • Ownership of core business systems critical to operations
    • Opportunity to drive modernization while maintaining system stability
    • High visibility across plant and corporate environments
