ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Director of Import Cost Compliance serves as the internal authority on supplier pricing compliance for Skechers' global import operations, responsible for validating the accuracy of invoices from international suppliers across all countries into which Skechers imports, and assuring their timely payment.
This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of import cost operations - including the review and authorization of supplier payments, dispute claim resolution, and related financial transactions and reporting - and leads the disposition of any non-compliances or inaccuracies in supplier invoices or payment requests.
This leadership position requires a highly experienced and skilled professional with a deep understanding of cost compliance for imported goods, supply chain management, and Oracle Cloud Financials (OCF), as well as exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills and strategic thinking abilities.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the import cost compliance team, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Oversee the efficient and accurate processing of product shipments, payments, letters of credit, and related financial transactions for Skechers and its worldwide subsidiaries.
- Serve as the internal authority on supplier pricing compliance, collaborating closely with Finance, Costing, Accounts Payable, IT, and global affiliate offices to resolve complex issues, optimize processes, drive continuous improvement, and lead systems integration.
- Develop and implement comprehensive policies, procedures, and controls to streamline price compliance operations and enhance operational efficiency across all import transactions.
- Act as a strategic leader for supplier pricing compliance on a global scale, guiding acquisition integrations, process developments, and software implementations.
- Lead the disposition and corrective actions of any non-compliances or inaccuracies in supplier payments or requests.
- Drive strategic, data-based decision-making by identifying and overseeing new opportunities for financial data analysis.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reporting, including for general ledger closings.
- Communicate import and financial documentation requirements to vendors and subsidiaries, establishing clear procedures for imports and their payment process.
- Oversee the processing of special shipments, returns, transfers, and chargebacks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide documentation and information as required.
- Administer vendor and factory records in Oracle and Compass, including vendor code setup for U.S. and subsidiary operations, banking and wiring instructions, factory terms, locations, and addresses.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in supplier costing, payment compliance, inventory operations, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Demonstrated ability to direct, lead, and motivate a team of 10 or more direct and indirect reports
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Oracle Cloud Financials (OCF), particularly in supplier costs and inventory management modules.
- Ability to work on-site in our Manhattan Beach headquarters.
- Proficiency in typical industry productivity applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
The pay range for this position is $175,000-$200,000/yr USD.
