You are responsible for campus scheduling and event operations when you discover that two high-priority events have been scheduled in the same space and both departments believe their event must proceed as planned. At the same time, Facilities has limited staffing available, Public Safety has identified a conflicting operational need, and one of the event organizers is requesting a last-minute change that would impact the schedule. Describe how you would approach this situation. In your response, explain how you would: 1. Assess and prioritize the competing needs; 2. Determine what information you need before making a decision; 3. Communicate with the impacted departments and support areas; 4. Identify and implement an appropriate solution; and 5. Follow up afterward to prevent similar conflicts in the future.
