Director, Geotechnology

Position Overview

Eurasia Group is seeking an experienced business and thought leader with deep subject matter expertise and great client management skills to join the Geotechnology practice.  The Geotechnology team is responsible for research and analysis of technology policy issues globally, as well as for the maintenance and growth of the Firm’s technology sector clients.  The director will be responsible for driving cutting edge thought leadership while also growing the business and managing client relationships and deliverables. 

Note:This is not an IT position; applicants with current IT operational backgrounds will not be considered.

This position will be based in Washington, DC. New York and London are possible alternative locations.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of technology clients, ensuring that research needs are met, and positioning Eurasia Group as a trusted advisor and thought leader at the intersection of technology and geopolitics.
• Delivering compelling briefings and crisp insights to clients, both within the technology sector and across the broader range of Eurasia Group clients.
• Supporting key public-facing and thought leadership initiatives across the firm
• Identifying growth opportunities and participating in scoping and commercial conversations with prospective clients.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience working at the intersection of technology, public policy, and business with increasing responsibility.
• Deep understanding of policy trends and issue areas across the technology landscape, including data governance, AI policy, telecommunications, US-China tech competition, EU regulation of multinationals, content regulation, and semiconductors. Experience across diverse actors and regions, including emerging markets, is a bonus.
• Experience in delivering client-facing materials and managing client relationships effectively. A track record of commercial success in owning, maintaining, and growing client relationships over time is a bonus, but consulting experience is not required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills that synthesize geopolitics, technology policy, and business implications in a compelling style.
• A collaborative, entrepreneurial, and turf-free mentality that focuses on superior client outcomes and growth, teamwork, and collaboration.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to engage effectively at the C-suite level.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $155,000 to $170,000

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
