The Treasury Corporate Finance team is responsible for supporting Schwab's overall balance sheet strategy with an emphasis on capital management and funding. As the Director of Funding, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and sustaining the firm's funding strategy across the corporation and its subsidiaries. This role sits at the intersection of financial analysis, capital markets, and strategic decision-making-where your work directly supports our ability to effectively and efficiently fund and manage our balance sheet from a position of safety and soundness.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Treasury Corporate Finance, this role serves as a senior position within the Treasury Corporate Finance team. You will play a key role in establishment and maintenance of funding programs across legal entities, developing and executing a holistic funding and liability management plan, including the planning and execution of debt and capital issuances, and maintaining a forward-thinking perspective on ways to expand and optimize our funding and capital markets capabilities. From analyzing current and prospective funding needs, performing comprehensive financial analysis to assess the implications of different alternatives, to leading the execution of funding capital markets transactions, this role has a high level of visibility and autonomy to drive favorable outcomes for Schwab.

Success in this role requires proven success in the funding and capital markets space, including demonstrated experience with developing a funding plan, leading key funding- and capital-related transactions, along with strong critical thinking and communication skills. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to take on new challenges as the organization continues to transform and as responsibilities evolve over time to meet changing business needs.

What you have
Required:
8+ years relevant experience with an emphasis on a mix of the following:
leading key funding desk activities (e.g., issuance / redemption, share repurchase, other capital markets transactions)
corporate finance / analytical assessments
assessing potential new funding channels
2+ years of direct people management experience, including proven ability to coach, develop and build a high-performing team
Bachelor's degree
Strong knowledge of debt capital markets and related financial and accounting topics
Strong experience developing and delivering presentations on complex topics to senior/executive leaders
Multiple experiences successfully engaging with key external stakeholders
Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and drive results with persistence and ownership
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear insights
Proficiency in AI, data analytics, and large enterprise databases
