About the role

Our Client's Family Office is seeking a Director, Family Office Investments to lead portfolio strategy and private markets investing for UHNW families in a faith-based wealth management environment.

You will set the investment philosophy and portfolio construction framework for the division, expand our private markets and values-aligned investing capabilities, and serve as a visible thought leader to clients, advisors, and the broader market. This is a highly strategic, senior role that combines investment leadership, public representation, and hands-on expertise in alternatives and values-aligned portfolios.

What you’ll do

Set and own the investment framework

  • Define and maintain the Family Office investment philosophy, strategy, and portfolio construction framework.

  • Develop and refine asset allocation models and risk guidelines for different client segments.

  • Oversee integration of public and private market strategies into client portfolios.

  • Ensure that all investment approaches remain aligned with regulatory, fiduciary, and client objectives.

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance portfolio construction methodologies as markets and client needs evolve.

Thought leadership & public representation

  • Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for Family Office clients.

  • Serve as the public face of the division’s investment strategy in client meetings, industry conferences, and media engagements.

  • Communicate market outlook, portfolio strategy, and private markets opportunities to clients and prospects.

  • Develop and deliver high-impact presentations and content for internal and external audiences to reinforce investment expertise.

Private markets leadership

  • Lead the development of private market investment capabilities, including sourcing, due diligence, and manager selection.

  • Maintain and leverage a strong network of private equity, private credit, venture capital, and alternative investment managers.

  • Identify and evaluate co-investment and direct investment opportunities appropriate for Family Office clients.

Values-aligned investing

  • Lead the design, communication, and implementation of values-aligned investment offerings in both public and private markets.

  • Build and deepen a network of third-party implementers and thought leaders focused on shaping culture through investment portfolios.

  • Help build Family Office into a values-aligned investment allocator at scale.

  • Maintain alignment with the firm’s Principles Based Investing framework, applying biblical principles to investment decisions in collaboration with the ISG.

Collaboration & oversight

  • Partner with the Investment Strategy Group (ISG) on portfolio management, research, and implementation of strategic direction.

  • Provide guidance on tactical adjustments during market dislocations, strategic shifts, and quarterly rebalances.

  • Act as a resource for advisors and relationship managers on complex investment and portfolio questions.

  • Train and equip Family Office advisors on key investment topics, portfolio construction, and private markets.

Governance, compliance & key deliverables

  • Serve on investment committees and subcommittees as requested.

  • Ensure adherence to fiduciary standards, regulatory requirements, and firm policies.

  • Contribute to risk management and oversight processes.

  • Deliver key outputs, including:

    • Model portfolios and frameworks for Family Office clients

    • Client-facing content such as quarterly outlooks tailored to Family Office clientele

    • Investment Committee memos and internal/external briefings

    • Investment Policy Statements (IPS) for Family Office clients

    • A coordinated roster of alternative asset managers and associated due diligence templates

What we’re looking for

Spiritual & philosophical alignment

  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of both the Old and New Testaments, especially scripture related to money and stewardship, and can integrate this understanding into investment decisions and client conversations.

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about values-aligned investing and eager to apply biblical financial principles in all aspects of the role.

Experience & technical expertise

  • Deep knowledge of global capital markets, portfolio construction, and alternative investments.

  • Proven expertise in private markets investing (e.g., private equity, private credit, real assets).

  • Established network within the private markets and alternative investments industry.

  • Minimum of 10+ years in investment strategy, portfolio management, or private markets, ideally serving UHNW or Family Office clients.

Education & credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, economics, or a related field.

  • Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA or related).

  • CFA designation strongly preferred; CAIA or MBA a plus.

Skills & competencies

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; able to articulate complex strategies clearly and confidently to sophisticated clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives and influence at the executive level.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Proven technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • High personal integrity and ability to handle confidential data discreetly.

  • Desire to serve clients and co-workers with excellence, exercising independent judgment while also taking direction when appropriate.

  • Proactive planner with strong responsiveness to urgent needs and a high capacity for learning new concepts quickly.
