Join UPMC Washington as the Director of Facilities Engineering and Maintenance, where you will lead the planning, operation, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure and systems. This key leadership role ensures a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment that supports exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
This is to include, but not be limited to, computerized management and maintenance systems, building automated control systems, material management systems and financial systems.
To develop and maintain an organizational structure appropriate to achieve the organizational objectives of the corporate system FEM.
To achieve economic and efficient operations consistent with UPMC system mission, goals and objectives maintaining the principles of cost containment.
Maintains UPMC Hospitals comprehensive preventive maintenance program to ensure it provides reliable and economical operations and promotes patient, employee safety while complying with all standards.
Provides project management services, as needed in collaboration with corporate construction team to ensure that internal projects are within budget and completed in a timely manner avoiding unnecessary delays while providing a safe operation of the existing facility.
Plans, organizes, and implements successful conservation program in the best interest of employees, patient welfare, minimizing waste wherever possible through the efficient use of utilities, equipment, etc.
Preferred Experience: Union management experience. Healthcare facilities management experience.
Required Knowledge: Must know what a ILSM and ICRA are. Ability to read a blueprint and know what a MEP stand for in the blueprint.
Schedule: Primarily M-F Daylight, or what is needed for operational needs. Travel will be required between UPMC Washington and UPMC Greene.
