Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) is a renowned, 349-bed regional medical center overlooking the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie, New York. As a tertiary teaching hospital and the healthcare leader in the Mid-Hudson Valley, we offer comprehensive, subspecialized medical, surgical, and obstetrical/gynecological services to the entire community.

Purpose:
Directs and leads total operation of the Environmental Services and Laundry/Linen Departments including establishing policies, procedures, standards and objectives to provide for the highest quality of services which is consistent with the hospital mission, legal and regulatory requirements. Must relate effectively with all levels of hospital organization.
Essential Responsibilities
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree in a related field or in the area of facilities management or 10 years of experience at a Director/Department head level position at an acute healthcare facility. Flexibility of the education and/or experience requirement noted above may be considered for the right candidate.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
Requires department head experience in healthcare, environmental services or facilities management. Demonstrated leadership and business acumen. Demonstrated knowledge of state-of-the-art cleaning and disinfection processes. Demonstrated knowledge in disposal of infectious and regular waste. Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in area of responsibility including employee and patient experience.
