While the original position is an E2E SAP Solution Architect, the manager clarified that the target candidate should be an Enterprise Architect profile, not simply a solution architect.
This leader must be capable of looking across the entire technology landscape and defining how SAP fits into the broader retail ecosystem. The position requires someone who combines enterprise architecture breadth with enough hands-on SAP expertise to make and challenge detailed architecture decisions.
This person can look across Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Store Operations, SAP, third-party platforms, integrations and the broader technology environment and determine how everything needs to work together.

Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive enterprise-wide architecture across the SAP and retail technology landscape.
- Define how S/4HANA fits into the broader enterprise architecture and technology ecosystem.
- Establish architecture across Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain and Store Operations.
- Lead architecture throughout the complete lifecycle of major SAP transformation programs.
- Drive integration between SAP and surrounding retail and enterprise platforms.
- Provide architectural direction around RISE with SAP and the modernization of the SAP landscape.
- Establish architecture standards and ensure consistency across individual solution domains.
- Partner with executives, business leaders, architects, engineering teams and systems integrators.
- Maintain enough hands-on technical involvement to challenge architecture decisions and ensure designs will work at enterprise scale.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Extensive enterprise architecture experience, beyond ownership of an individual SAP solution or module.
- Experience defining architecture across an enterprise-wide technology landscape.
- Deep SAP/S/4HANA architecture experience.
- Experience across the complete lifecycle of major SAP transformations.
- Retail industry experience is required.
- Strong understanding of the broader retail technology ecosystem and how SAP interacts with surrounding platforms.
- Experience with RISE with SAP. Candidates do not necessarily need to be RISE specialists, but must have meaningful exposure combined with strong underlying SAP architecture experience.
- Ability to operate both hands-on technically and at the executive level.
- Experience leading architecture in a large, complex enterprise environment.
Ideal Profile
The strongest candidate is an Enterprise Architect who happens to be deeply experienced in SAP, rather than an SAP Solution Architect with responsibility for only one area.This person can look across Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Store Operations, SAP, third-party platforms, integrations and the broader technology environment and determine how everything needs to work together.
