Join us as a Director, Ecosystem Development & Product Partnerships

Location: San Jose, California area

BMC is opening a new and exciting role to support its fast-growing Intelligent Z Optimization and Transformation (IZOT) division. Collaborating across the business unit leadership team, the Director Ecosystem Development and Product Partnerships will be responsible for creating and driving the agentic ecosystem strategy and signing AI partnerships for the BMC AMI (Automated Mainframe Intelligence) software portfolio.

This role will build strategic relationships with technology partners, AI innovators, hyperscalers, and platform companies to accelerate product innovation, market reach, and customer value.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in enterprise software, a strong network within the Silicon Valley technology ecosystem, and a proven ability to turn industry relationships into measurable business outcomes.

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:

• Develop IZOT's product partnership and ecosystem strategy for mainframe-native AI.
• Build and launch relationships with strategic technology partners that solidify the roadmap and expand the presence for BMC AMI in the agentic space.
• Drive the execution of joint go to market with key product partners, collaborating with colleagues in Solutions Marketing, Product Management, Corporate Marketing and Global Partner Sales.
• Collaborate with the Channel Partner team to identify, develop, and bring innovative solutions to market-placing them on the marketplace and fostering out-of-the-box thinking that extends the mainframe through BMC mainframe solutions.
• Maintain project plans and status for focus partners, reporting to the IZOT leadership and Sales leadership teams on a regular basis.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Solutions Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Global Partner Sales and Sales Engineering on integration, innovation, and go-to-market opportunities.
• Influence partner roadmaps and drive ecosystem growth initiatives.
• Represent BMC with senior executives, founders, and industry leaders.

To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

• Demonstrable experience in strategic partnerships, business development, product strategy, or product marketing with a proven track record
• Strong understanding of enterprise and mainframe software, AI, hyperscaler, and technology ecosystems.
• Established network within Silicon Valley and the broader technology community.
• Demonstrated success building strategic partnerships that drive business growth.
• Experience influencing senior executives both internally and externally.
• Proven ability to navigate complex organizations and lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Familiarity with mainframe systems is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Strong established network within Silicon Valley and the broader enterprise technology ecosystem.
• Experience working with hyperscalers, AI providers, platform vendors, technology alliances, or startup ecosystems.
• Background in enterprise infrastructure, observability, AIOps, automation, cloud operations, or related technology domains.
• Experience negotiating strategic partnership agreements and business frameworks.
• MBA or equivalent business and technology experience.

Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $197,850 - $329,750
