The Role:
As the Director of Nursing Education, you will spearhead the development and implementation of clinical education programs. Located at St. Mary Medical Center, you will collaborate with the leadership team to plan and execute educational strategies that align with our Nursing Strategic Plan. You will be pivotal in driving nursing excellence and fostering collaboration with the academic community. Your practice will adhere to The Joint Commission standards, State and Federal regulatory criteria, and professional practice standards.
What You'll Do:
Operational Innovator : Bring to life our Professional Practice Model through the enhancement and implementation of patient care practices, including clinical pathways, policies, procedures, standards, and data collection.
Evidence-Based Advocate : Lead the dissemination of scientific findings that impact clinical outcomes and support evidence-based practices for continuous quality improvement.
Educational Architect : Conduct needs assessments and develop formal and informal education programs that address the age-related needs of our patient populations.
Excellence Enabler : Oversee the Nursing Center of Excellence components like Shared Governance, Clinical Ladder, and Clinical Advancement Programs to ensure top-tier care delivery.
Resource Manager : Manage departmental resources, staffing, budget, quality, and performance to improve clinical practice and reduce costs.
Collaborative Leader : Foster a culture of collaboration among stakeholders and escalate issues to governance committees and executive teams as needed.
What You'll Bring:
Educational Background : A Master's Degree in Nursing; a Ph.D. is preferred.
Experience : 5 years in nursing and 3 years in a hospital setting, with a preference for experience in adult learning program development.
Licensure : California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
Clinical Skills : Advanced clinical nursing skills, theoretical knowledge, and a scientific approach to patient outcome analysis.
Communication Mastery : Exceptional oral and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and proficiency in computer skills for presenting findings.
Regulatory Knowledge : Expertise in regulatory requirements to integrate into patient care delivery systems.
Interpersonal Savvy : Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and administrators.
