Director- Clinic Operations I (Job Overview)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM)

As the Director- Clinic Operations I, you will help shape the financial and operational success of assigned practices across a defined geographic, specialty, or other designated group.
You will lead with purpose, partnering with operations managers, physicians, medical leadership, and support teams to help clinics meet performance goals, strengthen day-to-day operations, and create a positive experience for patients, providers, and team members. Working closely with the Senior Regional Operations Director and Vice President of Operations, you will help implement operating policies and initiatives that turn strategic goals into meaningful results.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to expand your impact across multiple practices while developing expertise in healthcare operations, financial performance, revenue cycle management, provider relations, and strategic planning. You will work alongside experienced leaders and clinical partners, solve challenges collaboratively, and help teams turn goals into meaningful outcomes for the communities they serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operations and service delivery of all practice sites within assigned clinics.
- Work with clinics to interview and hire managers and coordinators.
- Directly supervise and establish accountabilities, provide performance feedback, and conduct annual performance evaluations for managers, with input for relevant support staff.
- Provide counsel to managers in disciplinary matters with assistance from HR for disciplinary actions and/or terminations.
- Ensure success of physician and mid-level providers in the assigned practices.
- Collaborate with physicians to support their ability to establish successful practice.
- Review operational and financial performance monthly with managers, VP, and medical leadership to develop Site-Specific Action Plan.
- Work with manager to ensure compliance with performance standards.
- Coordinate revenue cycle initiatives for implementation in all practices.
- Review point-of-service collections weekly report and accounts receivable monthly report with operations manager.
- Manage annual budget development for assigned practices and hold the operations manager accountable for adherence to budget and performance objectives.
- Maintain routine communication with the Senior Regional Operations Director and the Vice President of Operations to review operational issues, performance targets, and other projects defined by the COO.
- Attend routine operational leadership meetings and problem solves jointly with leadership.
- Meet with Physicians regarding financial success of practice and deliver monthly revenue cycle performance.
- Collaborate with marketing on strategies for region and work with practice liaison for success.
- Develop and revise clinical revenue cycle policies to ensure compliance.
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical information, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's level degree in business, healthcare or related discipline area is required.
Required Years of Experience
- Three (3) years of recent demonstrated leadership experience managing a clinic's practice operations is required.
Desirable Education and/or Experience
- Master's degree, MHA, MBA or equivalent is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated competency with an EHRS system.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven team-oriented environment.
- Ability to develop a strong rapport with physicians. Significant skill in communicating with and relating to providers, including the ability to establish productive and cohesive partnership with providers.
- Strong knowledge of the day-to-day operations of clinical practice operations
- Financial and analytical expertise in budget development, physician practice productivity, productivity standards, revenue cycle management, provider relations, scheduling and referral tracking management and all other aspects relating to the management of a dynamic and growing practice.
- Strong understanding of fiscal management/ cost control; marketing and practice development; strategic planning and human resource management.
- Ability to formulate and carry out operational plans for clinical practice operations
- Knowledge of legal issues related to clinical practice operations, employment law and fraud/ abuse rules.
- Knowledge of project planning and ability to coordinate various projects and activities concurrently (multitasking/ prioritizing).
- Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and apply strong leadership skills in problem solving effectively.
- Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize.
- This job requires access to confidential and sensitive information, requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.
