Norwalk Hospital is a 366-bed academic and community medical center serving Fairfield County, Connecticut, and the surrounding New York Metro area. We are a Level II Trauma Center and Joint Replacement Center of Excellence, and we provide advanced cancer, heart, and neuroscience care.

Summary:
To maximize the operational effectiveness and financial success of the Cardiovascular Service Line, including Invasive Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Interventional Vascular Services, Cardiac Rehab, Echo, Stress Testing, Nuclear Cardiology, Holter Monitors, and EKG services. This position reports to the Network Cardiovascular Service Line Executive and is accountable to the cardiovascular service line for interventional and non-invasive cardiovascular daily operations, quality improvement, monitoring of standards, clinical diagnostic testing, educational protocols, and patient throughput.
Responsibilities:
Criteria A: Manages the daily operations of interventional and non-invasive cardiovascular services.
Criteria B: Manages strategic planning for interventional and non-invasive cardiovascular services in conjunction with the Network Cardiovascular Service Line Executive (SLE) and Medical Directors.
Criteria C: Supervises staff, including conducting performance reviews, counseling, overseeing educational development, and providing disciplinary action.
Criteria D: Completes projects for the cardiovascular service line including, but not limited to: work flow within each section and among sections; scheduling; billing; accounts receivable; performance improvement; contribution to annual employee performance evaluation goals; growth projections; business development; administration of recognition program; customer satisfaction; and operational and capital budgeting.
Criteria A: Accountable for financial outcomes for areas of responsibility. Develops and submits operating and capital budgets; manages expenses in relation to the established operational and capital budgets; monitors budget variances and implements corrective action when necessary.
Criteria B: Ensures clinical quality of all work performed within interventional and non-invasive cardiovascular services. Educates staff in current and new procedures and technologies with oversight of the Medical Directors.
Criteria C: Develops start-up strategies for new programs as they are introduced to the cardiovascular service line. Develops the necessary business plans and collaborates with all required clinical and operational departments.
Criteria D: Ensures the department has appropriate equipment and supplies. Researches capital and operational equipment and makes recommendations to SLE and Medical Directors concerning purchases.
Criteria A: Establishes, implements, and monitors safety and quality clinical practices in all clinical areas working with SLE and Medical Directors.
Criteria B: Achieves the organization''s established goals with regard to customer service, teamwork, safety, self-development, and supervisory/management standards.
Criteria C: Works collaboratively with the SLE and other administrative directors to assure service delivery is performed within acceptable guidelines including, but not limited to, third-party compliance agencies, budget, and department and hospital standards.
Criteria D: Procures, establishes, and maintains quality medical devices and systems which increase operational efficiencies.
Criteria A: Participates and contributes to appropriate projects outside of the cardiovascular service line as assigned.
Criteria B: Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor''s Level Degree
Required: Bachelor Degree, and minimum of five years job-related experience. Technical health care service delivery skills from work experience in a cardiovascular setting.
Minimum Experience: Five years
Desired: CT Registered Nurse License preferred, Master''s degree preferred, BLS/ACLS/RCIS certification preferred. Financial background or equivalent education desirable.
