Description

The Director of Business Development will identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities while building long-term relationships with clients, industry influencers, and key stakeholders. This leadership role partners closely with internal teams to develop winning pursuit strategies, deliver client-focused solutions, and support successful project execution.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives.
  • Identify and qualify new opportunities through market research, networking, and client engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, owners, developers, architects, engineers, and industry influencers.
  • Lead pursuit planning, proposal development, presentations, and pre-contract activities.
  • Collaborate with preconstruction, project management, and operations teams to ensure seamless project transitions.
  • Maintain CRM data, customer action plans, market intelligence, and opportunity tracking.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade associations, and community organizations.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, coaching, and performance management for business development team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Real Estate, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in business development and
  • 3+ years in construction project management.
  • Solid knowledge of design-build delivery methods and construction project lifecycles.
  • Proven success developing client relationships, securing new business, and leading pursuit strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Strategic, self-motivated professional with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive results.
