Director, Associate General Counsel, Privacy, Cybersecurity, and AI

About the RoleChime is looking for an Director, Associate General Counsel to lead our Privacy & Security team. The Director will work cross-functionally with marketing, security, engineering, product, data, and member support teams to manage Chime's privacy program in compliance with applicable privacy and data security laws and regulations. The Associate General Counsel will also play a key role in Chime's AI governance program.The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $264,000 and up to $345,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.In this role, you can expect toAdvise teams on privacy laws, with a particular emphasis on financial privacyTake the lead in maintaining Chime's privacy program to ensure it meets evolving regulatory expectationsWork cross-functionally to develop and help manage privacy impact assessments and ensure that privacy by design is embedded in everything Chime doesWork collaboratively with product counsel to advise on privacy aspects of product designDevelop and conduct both general and role-specific privacy trainingsSupport Chime's security team, including by supporting scenario planning exercises and advising on reportability of incidents to the extent they ariseStay abreast of regulatory and industry trends in privacy and security laws, including new regimes and requirements that may become applicable as the business evolves, and work with cross functional partners to implement necessary changesHelp maintain and update privacy and security policies and noticesTo thrive in this role, you have10+ years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in-house, with an emphasis on helping build or maintain privacy and security programsInterest in, and experience advising on, AI enablement and governanceExperience advising a security team on best practices and preparednessProven track record leading a teamAbility to translate legal and regulatory expectations into actionable, pragmatic guidanceExperience helping to craft privacy policies and procedures for business teams while advising on risks and providing practical options for mitigating those risksFlexibility in managing shifting priorities as part of a creative and dynamic businessOutstanding professional judgment and excellent communication and drafting skillsComfort with advising senior business leaders (including executive-level management)What we offer for our full-time, regular employeesOur in-office work policy is designed to keep you connected - with four days a week in the office and Fridays from home for those near one of our offices, plus team and company-wide events depending on location.
