About the RoleTubi is adding a Director, Associate General Counsel-level attorney to our growing legal team. You will play a key role in structuring, drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial and technology agreements, including SaaS agreements, platform distribution agreements, co‑marketing agreements and other agreements in support of Tubi's business development. You will work collaboratively with subject‑matter experts and cross‑functional colleagues across the organization. This position will report to the Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Distribution, International and Technology.Location: this role may be based in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York, or performed remotely from any U.S.-based location.What You'll DoStructure, draft, review and negotiate various commercial, technology, and software licensing agreements, including SaaS agreements, privacy and data processing terms (e.g., DPAs), platform distribution agreements, co‑marketing agreements, and ad sales representation agreements.Provide contractual and strategic guidance to internal clients, identifying practical business solutions to move contracts to close while balancing business objectives and risk.Collaborate to establish best practices and templates for general commercial matters.Participate in developing and implementing process‑related tasks to improve team efficiencies.Assist other legal team members with overflow work and client counseling as needed.Remain up‑to‑date on consumer protection, data use, privacy, and data security laws and regulations.Demonstrate superlative communication skills and proactive collaboration with client stakeholders and legal team members.Maintain detail orientation and manage a high‑volume workload efficiently.Your Background10+ years of combined relevant legal experience at a law firm and/or in‑house at entertainment, media, or technology companies.Experience with advertising sales and ad technology.Experience with technology licensing (e.g., SaaS) and other procurement transactions.Experience with complex commercial transactions (e.g., joint ventures).Preferred but not required: experience negotiating platform distribution agreements for direct‑to‑consumer applications.Preferred but not required: experience negotiating terms around privacy and data security laws in the U.S. and Europe (e.g., VPPA, CPRA, GDPR).Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.Strong drafting skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex legal transactions simultaneously.Excellent communication skills, conveying complex legal concepts clearly to non‑legal colleagues.Ability to balance necessary legal protections with practical business needs.Ability to work independently and proactively, with sound judgment regarding escalation.Curiosity about the entertainment/media landscape and technology.JD from an ABA‑accredited U.S. law school.Admission to the state bar in at least one U.S. state.Compensation and BenefitsPay range: $212,000 – $295,000 USD annually, depending on education, skills, experience, and location. Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and long‑term incentive plan.
