At Johns Hopkins Children's Center, innovation, collaboration, and excellence in pediatric care come together to change the lives of children and families every day. As Maryland's largest children's hospital and home to nationally recognized pediatric specialty programs, Johns Hopkins Children's Center is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Advanced Practice to lead and inspire a highly skilled team of Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Advanced Practice Nurses. This influential leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the future of advanced practice, drive clinical and professional excellence, champion recruitment and retention initiatives, and partner with multidisciplinary leaders to advance quality, patient experience, and innovative models of care across one of the nation's premier pediatric academic medical centers.

Education

A Master's degree in a healthcare or related field from an accredited school. Doctorate preferred.

Knowledge

• Advanced knowledge of the nurse practitioner and physician assistant scopes of practice, certification and licensing requirements.
• Knowledge and understanding of learning and educational technology and the related computer and web-based applications.
• Knowledge and mastery of information systems to support educational, operational and clinical activities.

Skills

• Advanced interpersonal skills to build interdisciplinary partnerships and relationships with stakeholders.
• Demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong customer focus that will impact program building.
• Demonstrated excellence in meeting aggressive financial targets and a track record of innovation and entrepreneurship.
• Experience with business, product development, and integrated marketing.
• Experience managing professional and support staff.
• Ability to influence and negotiate individual and group decision-making.
• Ability to function effectively in a fluid, dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to analyze, synthesize and summarize information to make judgments related to implementation, evaluation and ongoing monitoring and evaluation of programs.
• Advanced skills to plan and manage programs or initiatives in a large matrix-managed organization.
• Proficient in use of software applications, i.e. data base, spread sheets, word processing, presentation programs.

Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.

• Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.

Work Experience

• Five years of pediatric clinical experience with an additional five years of experience designing, leading and/or managing NPs and/or PAs at the department, hospital, or system level.

Salary Range: Minimum $146,723.00/annually - Maximum $227,427.00/annually. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
